Llanymynech Access Problems. (posted 04/05/10) Sorry for posting this a little late. Somehow it got lost in the email clutter. Many thanks to David Bowler for providing the following information:- The area is a nature reserve and the Wildlife Trusts that manage the area, although keen to allow climbing, have had complaints about the behaviour of some climbers. Recently some of the bolts on Foreigners wall have been removed. Before visiting Llanymynech please check the BMC site for information on the latest access restrictions. The latest news story is here:- http://www.thebmc.co.uk/News.aspx?id=3597 The Regional Access Database is here:- http://www.thebmc.co.uk/bmccrag/ For details of which walls are being discussed in the BMC article check out Gary Gibson's site. http://www.sportsclimbs.co.uk/mainpages/clwyd/Llanymynech%20Access%20and%20Layout.htm

Midweek Climbing. (posted 30/03/10) Having spent many a happy hour, over the winter months, breathing in plumes of chalk dust at indoor walls it is time to put those highly honed skills to the test. So thrutch over a green roof, squirm your way up a slimey chimney and jibber your way up a polished slab in our lovely temperate climate. Dave Bowler has dipped his fingers into his chalk bag and typed up the following timetable for midweek climbing meets. Cheers Dave.

Some More Meets for Next Year. (posted 13/12/09) The programme for 2010 has now been published and meet organisers need to get an idea of the number of members attending the larger trips. So to plan your climbs in sunnier climes, use this booking form and send it off to your temporarily crippled Club Dad. |
